Latest residential tower at Liverpool Waters reaches major construction milestone

Starlight Investments, X1, Vermont and Peel Waters have celebrated a major development milestone with the topping out ceremony of Lighthaus, Starlight Investments flagship build-to-rent (BTR) development in Liverpool Waters. The celebration took place alongside team members and partners on January 29, 2025.

Located in one of Liverpool’s most sought-after areas, the 31-storey residential tower which is currently under construction within Liverpool Waters, Lighthaus will feature state-of-the-art facilities and a new approach to modern city living.

Upon completion, Lighthaus will consist of 278 new homes and appeal to a variety of residential needs, offering studios, one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments. Future residents will have access to a range of premium experiences, such as a breathtaking sky lounge with panoramic views; a state-of-the-art gym; co-working spaces; a residents’ lounge; and a concierge service.

Lighthaus is one of nine BTR developments Starlight has under development across the UK. In 2024, the company announced several major acquisitions in Manchester, Leeds, Dartford and Basildon bringing its UK portfolio to over 3,600 suites under management.

Lighthaus at Liverpool Waters reflects Starlight’s commitment to delivering best-in-class developments that enhance residents’ lives. Developed in partnership with X1 and contractors Vermont, Lighthaus will add an important new landmark to the ambitious Liverpool Waters regeneration programme.

An enduring partnership

X1 and Peel have a long history of working together across six different locations, including Chatham Waters, Manchester Waters and Trafford Waters. Together the two developers have secured planning permission for 4,153 homes and have delivered 2,414 homes together.

Lighthaus will be part of the Princes Dock neighbourhood at Liverpool Waters which is already home to thousands of residents, has over 100,000 sq ft of Grade A office space, as well as popular hotels, cafes, bars and the UK’s first public floating sauna.
